How To Make Your Dog Like You

A dog is not simply a pet, in many cases; it is an extended member of your family. That does not mean, however, that there are not going to be problems that can occur when you own a dog that will need to be addressed as quickly as possible. Just like a child can cause problems within the family, an unruly dog can be miserable for everyone involved. That is why it’s crucial for you to consider, not just the fact that you are taking care of the health of your dog, but that you are also paying attention to any dog behavior training that may be necessary.

So how do you make your dog like you? If you can carve out some time to play with your pet, that’s a great thing. Ensure that you are not distracted, and you can devote your full attention to him. Dogs don’t have the play market cornered. Cats love to play as well – especially when you wiggle a little string in front of them. Some cats even love to chase little toy mice that you toss. Your puppy or kitty needs this bonding/play time to stay mentally and physically healthy.

How you hold your dog goes a way towards showing your pet how much you care. A hug and affectionate pats on the back both show your pet that you love them.A gentle embrace or pat on the back is essential in building a loving relationship between a dog and his owner, it id the main form of communication, and with dogs, actions do speak louder than words.

If you want to bond with your dog or cat, grooming is a great way to do it. Most dogs and cats love daily doses of brushing and petting. Not only is it a good thing for your pet emotionally – but it’s also good for their physical health. My cat wasn’t too sure what to think of all this when I started brushing him. Now, he climbs onto my lap and purrs away while he gets his brushing.

Giving your pet treats is also a very effective way to bond with them. Those special treats help to solidify your relationship with your pet. Something that he loves, given unexpectedly, teaches your pet that good things come from you. He’ll associate this pleasure with you. After a stress filled time for your pet, this is a great way to bring them back around. Claw trimming is probably my cats’ least favorite thing. Now he knows that there’s a killer treat waiting for him when he’s done.

Training your dog will make the both of you very happy. Not only will you be happy with the disappearance of the unruly behaviors you saw before, but you will be happy in the new relationship you have with this family member. Your dog will be happy too because he will see the love and respect you feel for him and return it.

The important thing to remember is that the training is to benefit both of you. It is designed to give you both a deeper understanding and respect for one another. This will help form a very strong bond between the two of you that is based on respect and love for each other. That gives you a strong basis for forming a very good relationship.
